Ichiryu is the new all-day fast food restaurant serving traditional Japanese Udon noodles in London.
Founded by Ramen boss Tak Tokumine, Ichiryu is the new all-day fast food restaurant serving traditional Japanese Udon noodles.
Blenheim Design have created restaurant where every process of cooking is on display, from Udon noodle making in the window to the garnish at the end of the serving counter. Inspired by traditional Japanese artisan noodle making, restaurant designers have created this takeaway and fast food concept purely around food.
Interior design is warm and inviting, this was achieved by the honey coloured wood, copper backed glass, oak and bronze.
Timber wall covering at high level unifies two distinct areas; cooking and seating side of the restaurant. Large bespoke lighting feature on the ceiling is sitting directly above the Japanese inspired pattern floor tiles which have been individually laid as a guide from the main doors to the takeaway order point.
The main restaurant dining area features a commanding show kitchen allowing diners to view the chefs at work in the kitchen. The seating options in the dining area include high level bronze stained solid oak communal table, banquette with hidden storage compartments as well as window bench.
Most design elements and implementation of materials within the space work successfully in eluding to the Japanese roots.
